Do
not soak your cast iron cookware nor scrub with harsh detergents (including
those with lye) or abrasive sponges (scouring pads) as they will remove the
polymerized fat particles that protect the cast iron. Clean properly with mild soap to avoid the
surplus oil becoming rancid.

- First cool your cast iron cookware.
- Wash in warm water with a mild soap and stiff nylon brush.
- Dry the pan fully by placing on a hot stove for a few minutes.
- Rub a very thin layer of cooking-grade oil on the pan.
- Place the pan on the hot stove for a few more minutes.
- Wipe off all excess oil once the cast iron cookware has cooled.
- Finally, store in a clean, cool and dry space.
